I’m beyond excited to share a special episode of the Hard Beautiful Journey podcast with you, one that has been in the making for years. In this episode, I sit down with Kristina Nichol, the incredibly talented musician behind a song that holds so much meaning in my heart—"Dance in the Rain."
This song isn’t just a melody; it’s a piece of my story, my brother’s story, and, in many ways, it reflects the journey of anyone who has faced hardship and still found the courage to embrace joy.
In 2018, life was tough for me. I was trying to heal, working through grief, and I met Kristina through a video workshop—another creative outlet I was exploring to process the chaos within. Little did I know that our paths were meant to intertwine even deeper. It wasn’t until later, after my brother’s passing, that Kristina took the most profound moment of my journey—dancing in the rain with my brother after a near-overdose—and turned it into a beautiful anthem for hope.
In the podcast, we talk about how this song was born, the fears Kristina faced in writing someone else’s story, and the incredible magic that happens when you follow your intuition, even if it takes years. The result? A song that has touched hearts in over 57 countries and counting.
"Dance in the Rain" reminds us that, even in our hardest moments, we can choose joy. I know the power of this song will continue to inspire others, just as it has me. I hope you’ll give it a listen and let it remind you to embrace every moment—especially the messy, unexpected ones.
Listen to the full episode and hear Kristina perform an acoustic version of "Dance in the Rain." And remember, you can stream the song wherever you listen to music. Let’s all take a moment to dance in the rain today.
